Mar 26, 2007: State Treasurer Forms Employee Committee
Santa Fe – State Treasurer James B. Lewis announces the formation of the Employee Improvement and Concerns Committee (EICC). "I'm a firm believer in communication among all areas of an organization – especially between the management team and staff. This committee provides a new avenue to hear and respond to the collective voice of our staff," stated Treasurer Lewis.
Made up of seven members, the EICC includes a non-supervisory staff member from each of the agency's four divisions (Marie Andermann-Hidalgo/Investments, Yolanda Chavira/Cash Management, JoAnn Schutz/Finance, and Gwendolyn Knox/Operations), as well as the agency's Human Resources Bureau Chief (Wilbert Ryan), its Compliance Officer (Judy Espinosa), and, its union steward (TBD).
Meeting once a month, the EICC's objectives include: serve as liaison between employees and the management team; provide employees with a forum to participate in the management team's decision-making on employee-related matters; assist employees in identifying and participating in educational and training opportunities to enhance work duties and responsibilities; identify and discuss, then communicate to the management team, employees' issues and concerns; present proposals, recommendations, and suggestions to the management team; and, represent the interests of employees individually and within each division.
